The material choice in furniture conception is essential in terms of environment sustainability, because the concern with environment is increasing. Design is, likewise, a factor that must be taken account, since the goal is to create pieces, not only aesthetically pleasing, but also ergonomic, in order to offer its users higher comfort.
Polypropylene presents several advantages to furniture. Its low density allows obtaining lighter pieces for easy transport, as well as its high hardness offers superior warranty. Furthermore, it has good resistance to environment temperature, as well as chemical products. Polypropylene is also customisable, once colorant can be easily added, without degrade the material quality.
One of polypropylene greatest advantages is sustainability, because it consumes low energy during production, as well as it produces low carbon dioxide emissions, when compared to other polymers. It can be recycled several times and be used in different applications.
Once it is easily moulded, polypropylene allows creating an adequate and functional design.
